IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships: "Meet" the CEO
While waiting in line at LAX to board the plane to Brisbane, There were copious individuals people wearing IRONMAN apparel. Whenever I caught their eye, I asked, "Where did you qualify?", followed by where they were from, etc.
I kept glancing over at a guy in a yellow IM polo, but didn't say anything. There was something ever-so-slightly off, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Yet, at the same time, there was something intriguing about him.

A couple minutes later we caught eyes, and he asked me "Where did you qualify?"
"Puerto Rico. Are you racing, too?"
"No, I'm not," he says.
"Oh! You're supporting!"
"You could say that..."
I found his answer a little odd, but didn't think much of it.
Another IM-clad fellow turned and whispered to me, "He's the CEO of IRONMAN."
"Oh my gosh! I feel so stupid, and really bad!" I'm not sure how I realistically could have expected to recognize this guy who I've only ever seen his name on the signature line of IM emails, never a photo.
"Don't worry about it," the guy said.
Like a freaking fan girl, all giddy-like, I said "Now I want to shake his hand!"
I didn't get to because by the time I looked back over, he was conversing with another Iron-athlete, and then boarded the plane, probably disappearing into Business class.
