NYC Triathlon 2014
NYC Triathlon (Katie only) – New York City - August 3, 2014 (Olympic distance) Amazing crowd support and organization. I personally could not have asked for a better race. I was well-rested, felt strong, and stayed focused throughout. I raced as hard and fast as I could, and because I felt great, I decided to “cheese it up” for all the race photographers. (hey – why not?) Things to remember (or not…): Watching the pros jump off the swim barge and just FLY down the river Watching a dead eel float by while waiting to start our swim….gross!!! Tripping and nearly falling on my face out of the swim exit while trying to pass people who were walking to T1 (this is a RACE, people!) A very rainy bike ride Taking a quick “inventory” at T2 and being pleasantly surprised that there were only about a dozen bikes racked for my age group, meaning the rest were behind me Looking at my watch out of T2 and realizing I’d finish sub-3 hours!
